1. Here’s Pink Floyd performing “Atom Heart Mother,” in its somewhat shorter form without the orchestra, for a KQED PBS-TV special in San Francisco on April 29, 1970.

    Pink Floyd should really be releasing these sorts of rarities from their classic pre-Dark Side period, ie. from 1969-71, when I think they were at their best as a cohesive band. Not that there isn’t great stuff from DSOTM on, but there is something quite special and original about their music when it was performed live during the 1969 through 1971 period.
